Notes de dégustation

Eye: Old golden robe, almost amber.

Nose: Cardamom, turmeric, and black pepper, quetsch, and plums. Warming notes of cedar and sandalwood.

Palate: A fruity delicacy with notes of ripe mirabelle plum, prune, chocolate with cinnamon. Spicy notes of nutmeg and tobacco. A finale of licorice and ginger - light and simple. Rancio of a well-aged Cognac appears at the end.

A Petite Champagne Vintage from 1973 - part of the esteemed Cognac de Collection

Featured as one of the exclusive Cognac de Collection curated by Grosperrin, the Grosperrin 1973 Petite Champagne Vintage comes from a family of notaries who have settled in Cognac for several generations. Today, Grosperrin are dedicated to the selection and the ageing of old cognacs and their distribution.

The 1973 Vintage Cognac from the Petite Champagne is a testament to the cru, which is renowned for taking 20-30 years to age fully. This cognac from 1973 aged for more than 45 years in casks. It is characterized by a maritime climate and chalky soil.

Cognacs from the Grosperrin house are never made with caramel and added sugar, and are aged in the original casks where possible.

Presentation

Proofed at 51.2% ABV, and arriving in a tall and simple Cognac decanter.

À propos de Grosperrin Cognac

La maison de Cognac indépendante Grosperrin est une maison relativement nouvelle dans la région, n'ayant été créée qu'en 1999 par son fondateur, Jean Grosperrin. Grosperrin est basé à Saintes qui se situe entre les terroirs de Fins Bois et Borderies et il est aujourd'hui dirigé par le fils de Jean, Guilhelm, qui a pris la relève en 2004 à seulement 23 ans.

La mission de Guilhelm est de découvrir les producteurs de toute la région afin de créer des Cognacs vraiment uniques à partir des six crus. Cette vision a été rendue possible par les relations fantastiques que Jean Grosperrin a tissées avec les producteurs, et que Guilhelm a depuis construites et élargies. Aujourd'hui, Grosperrin travaille avec plus de 150 producteurs de Cognac, parmi lesquels Guilhelm sélectionnera méticuleusement des fûts pour les transformer en exquises bouteilles.
