Description
Château de Montifaud Héritage L30 Cognac: the Magic of Oak
This outstanding Hors d’Age blend has been created exclusively with eaux-de-vie sourced from the Petite Champagne growing region. The Château de Montifaud Héritage L30 Cognac is much older than the minimum required by the Cognac regulations for an XO Cognac, opening the grates of the Paradis cellar where the oldest Cognacs of the Château are kept. Distilled on the lees using artisanal techniques, this Cognac has been laid to rest in old French ‘red oak’ casks and then extra old barrels to reveal stunning notes of nuts, spices and tannins. The classic Petite Champagne character shines through beautifully, giving brightness and finesse to the final product.
The Vallet family have been the guardians of Château de Montifaud Cognac for six generations and are today responsible for 125 hectares of vineyards across the Fine Champagne regions. Specializing in traditional production methods, the family chooses to distil only Ugni Blanc grapes and age their Cognacs much longer than required by law.
Presentation of the Bottle
With a classic, craft design, this hand-blown bottle features off-white labelling and a cage closure over the natural cork. Other details include the Château's eagle coat of arms and information written in a charming font, resembling a handwritten script. The bubbles trapped in the artisanal glass bottle give a rustic impression to the design, a nod to the old-fashioned processes still used at this humble, family-run estate.
How to Enjoy Château Montifaud Héritage L30 Cognac
As one would expect of a Cognac of this age, this is a bottle to bring out for special occasions. It’s sure to impress your dinner guests with its detailed packaging and rich aroma. Serve it as a digestif, alongside dessert or simply with coffee.

Elegant and Serious
In the glass a rosy mahogany with a touch of antique gold. The nose is of fruit and flower, seriously fine wood, elegant, no alcohol. On the palate it is warm, buttery, comfortable and refined, again “serious”. A finish as rewarding as the first sip, lengthy and warm.
Sweet simplicity
I have never tasted this cognac before. L50 og L60 I like a lot, so I look forward to taste this. This cognac has a somewhat dark golden color. It is a bit shy on the nose, it takes time to discover and distinct aromas. After some time you find hints of dried fruit. In mouth you will experience a...
À propos de Château de Montifaud
Owned by the family Vallet for six generations, Chateau de Montifaud Cognac boasts 125 hectares of vineyards that are located in both the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne growing regions. The house produces a large, high quality range of cognacs – including various vintages from years that have had an exceptional harvest. One family tradition that Cognac Chateau Montifaud is proud to follow, is that of when a new baby boy is born to the head of the cognac house, that part of the cognac created from that year’s harvest is set to one side. This is kept for a varying number of years, but may only be sold by future generations.
