Appellation (Cru) & sol: Grande Champagne
The A.E. Dor Extra Grande Champagne Cognac is, we have to say, rather sublime. Aged in small barrels in a humid cellar, this 'extra' quality premier cru Cognac delights from the moment you set eyes on it. It comes in a beautiful decanter and presentation box, and as that lovely deep hue that only comes from a truly well-aged Cognac. The sensory journey continues, with aromas of violets, vanilla, and cocoa. And for anyone who questions what the smell and taste of 'rancio' is, then this really is a superb example.
If the Cognacs of A.E. Dor are a new one to you, then this one certainly showcases what an extraordinary house this is. With a stock of eaux-de-vie that pre-dates the phylloxera crisis of the late 1800s, this is a house with not only a wealth of history, but an incredible cellar that they use to create outstanding Cognacs. We guarantee that once you try a Cognac from the house of A.E. Dor, you'll be back for more.
A.E. DOR Extra Grande Champagne Cognac
The first thing that attracted me to buy was the exquisite wine bottle and wooden box. And then there's my favorite Grande Champagne region. In my opinion, A.E. dor is as good as Frapin.
Here's another great Extra
I blind tasted this cognac by AEDor. First of all: great decanter and wooden box. Now, the taste. The nose is spetacular, very grande champagne.. very rich. It's a great example for rancio when it comes to the palate. that finish is beautifully round and richt.. if you love mature Cognac - this is a classic.
À propos de A.E. DOR Cognac
The vintage eaux-de-vie of A.E. Dor are one the few that are left from before phylloxera struck the region in 1874. Adapting to current developments in the cognac industry and the luxury market in general, the company, today headed by Jacques Riviere, have launched a new range of products that target a wider and more international group of consumers.
