The Rémy Martin Centaure Extra Old Cognac falls into the Extra age category, meaning it's somewhere between a Club and XO. A smooth and harmonious Cognac, it can be particularly hard to come by in stores as it was originally produced for the Chinese market only.
The blend consists of 25% Petite Champagne and 75% Grande Champagne - a true Fine Champagne Cognac. There are over 300 eaux-de-vie in the Centaure blend (that's a lot) from at least 20 different harvests, where the youngest eaux-de-vie are at least 6 years old. On average, the eaux-de-vie for this Cognac is aged for up to 25 years.
Centaure from Remy Martin is only available to purchase in a liquor store from shops in mainland China. However - you can now buy it via the Cognac Expert online store - wherever you may live in the world. A great way to get your hands on this excellent Cognac.
The Centaure Cognac was created in 2011 by Cellar Master Pierre Trichet to reflect the house style: confident, yet natural without ostentation.
How to serve
The Rémy Martin Centaure comes in a tall 1-liter bottle, meaning that there is plenty for mixing and creating fabulous cocktails. It is recommended by the Big Four house itself to enjoy it neat or in ice with its smooth, subtle flavor. A must-have for all drinking occasions, from big celebrations to smaller informal meetings.
The bottle is tall and unique, with gold embossed writing and an imprint of the Remy Martin crest of the half man, half horse - the centaur.
