Prince Hubert de Polignac Extra Cognac: Stand Out From the Rest
The Prince Hubert de Polignac Extra Cognac is an award-winning, 'extra' quality blend made solely from eaux-de-vie grown in the Premier Cru of the Cognac region - Grande Champagne. This blend of very old eaux-de-vie aged in Limousin oak has led to an extraordinarily mellow Cognac, one that truly has to be tasted to be believed. As one would expect, it delights with a rich taste of rancio, only found when the barrels have been allowed to work their magic for many years in a dark Charentais cellar.
Prince de Polignac Cognac is named after one of France's oldest noble families, members of which include Cardinal De Polignac (French ambassador in Poland and Rome in the 17th century), Countess Yolande de Polignac - a personal friend of Marie Antoinette - and Prince Jules de Polignac, a cabinet minister under Charles X. It was their descendant, Prince Hubert de Polignac, who eventually allowed the Cognac producer Mounier to use his name for one of their bottlings in 1947. After the trademark was registered, the Prince himself took to travelling the world to promote the brand, sealing its association with royalty, adventure and luxury.

Presentation of the Bottle
The stunning and detailed decanter features flowing, curved lines and an imposing gold neck and stopper. On the front, a garland of fleur-de-lis moulded in the glass surrounds the intricate gold-detailed label. The black and gold box opens like the curtains on a stage, revealing a bottle standing in the center. This is not a Cognac that aims to be forgotten!
How to Enjoy Prince Hubert de Polignac Extra Cognac
Take the time to leave this Cognac to rest in your glass before tasting it, and prepare yourself for the moment when you take the first sip. For the best tasting experience, serve at room temperature, or slightly chilled, in a tulip glass.

Outstanding product
I must say, I was surprised to learn that Polignac also has an older Cognac than XO. This Extra is really different from the standard VS, VSOP range of Prince Polignac - lovely decanter, great presentation. Pretty iconic design, I'd say. Now, the cognac is not that agressive on the nose.. but that...
