Martell L'Or de Jean Martell Cognac

L'Or de Jean Martell is a truly one-of-a-kind, exceptional Cognac. Created from eaux-de-vie from both the Grande Champagne and Borderies terroir, this Cognac is made up of eaux-de-vie of up to 100 years old. The result is a deliciously well-aged, marriage of flavors that take the taster on a voyage of the senses. At the very first glimpse, admire the deep shimmering hues of the Cognac housed inside the carefully crafted bottle. Then upon tasting, you’ll be mesmerized by the perfect harmony encapsulated in the blending of more than 400 different eaux-de-vie - magic in its purest form. Cellar Master, Christophe Valtaud reveals;

"For me, L’Or de Jean Martell is the quintessence of Martell Cognacs. With the body of the Borderies and the structure of Grande Champagne, L'Or offers a perfect balance between rich aromas and power".

Martell is one of the oldest great Cognac houses and dates back to 1715. Today the brand is very much at the forefront of Cognac production and has earnt itself an outstanding international reputation. Martell’s signature distillation process is free of impurities and allows the eaux-de-vie to absorb its rich aromatic tones from the bourbon cask.

Presentation of the bottle

Presentation of the bottle Dressed in a stunning crystal decanter, L’Or de Jean Martell is certainly a collectors item for the Cognac connoisseur. As embodied through its name “The Gold of Jean Martell”, this Cognac embodies pure opulence and finesse. Contained inside a teardrop shaped bottle, its striking gold casing allows the Cognac to stand strong on display. The long gold neck and crystal bottle stopper accentuate its glamorous aesthetic even further. Also featuring hand engraved swirls on the gold casing and glass stopper, alongside its equally lavish stand and presentation box - it is clear that every last detail has been considered. From the design work of the decanter, to the craftsmanship gone into curating the nectar it beholds - this Cognac is a true work of art.

How to enjoy

A Cognac unveiling unrivalled harmony and elegance like this one is best enjoyed on its own - neat. Pour into a tulip glass, as the slim neck of this type of glass will allow the patchwork of aromas to blossom beautifully. After leaving it to stand for a few minutes, savor the experience as the sumptuous flavors tantalize the taste buds, sip after sip.

About Martell Cognac

Martell is the oldest of the Big Four Cognac houses. Similar to Rémy Martin, but a few years older still, not long ago did Martell celebrate its 300-year anniversary. The history of Martell & Co dates back to 1715 when Jean Martell founded the company with the wish to produce only the highest quality in Cognac. With the legendary bottles Martell Cordon Bleu, the cuvée Martell Extra L’Or de Jean Martell and the recent Création Grand Extra from 2007, the company strongly implanted itself in the luxury goods market, and are famous for using large amounts of eaux-de-vie from the Borderies terroir. It belongs to Pernod Ricard and has sales of around 15 million liters every year. The most precious eaux-de-vie, some of which date back to 1830, are stored in a secret location in the cellars of Jean Martell - approximately 1.6 million 9-liter cases!
