Description
Extra Francois Voyer Cognac: Award-Winning Quality
The Extra Francois Voyer Cognac could go down in the dictionary as the description of what makes Grande Champagne the Premier Cru of Cognac. Only the finest high-acidity Ugni Blanc grapes from the Premier Cru have been used for this blend, comprising eaux-de-vie aged for a minimum of 10 years, with the oldest components aged up to 45. The house of François Voyer uses French oak barrels from the Limousin, Bercée, Gâvre and Reno Valdieu forests, housed in optimal conditions to let the character of each cask develop fully over the years. Offering a true celebration of aromas and tastes - from oriental spices right through to the unmistakable perfume of cigar boxes - this Cognac has deserved every one of its dizzying number of awards.
The Chauchet-Voyer family have been distilling and aging eaux-de-vie in oak barrels since the 1870s – for over five generations. Focusing on the Grande Champagne cru, they work with numerous winegrowers in the area, as the domaine itself is a small-scale producer with only 28 hectares of land. They are, however, dedicated to maintaining a sustainable agriculture approach to protect biodiversity and public health and was one of the first 20 domaines to obtain the High Environmental Value (HEV) certification.

Presentation of the Bottle
With its bold curved shape, the decanter immediately entices you to hold it. The gold details on the glass are beautifully reflected in the oversized gold stopper and a gold cord wrapped around the neck of the bottle. The presentation box is cleverly designed, with a wood section that pulls out, holding the bottle within its frame. Truly a centerpiece.
How to Serve
Rare old blends like this deserve your full attention: pour gently into a tulip glass and let it rest for 30 seconds before taking a sip. To allow the aromas to open up further, a small dash of mineral water could be added.

Intense pleasure
This has been a long term favorite. Voyer is a great house, and this is probably their best buy. I also come in a regular bottle with a somewhat lower price tag. This cognac has a deep mahogany color and is quite oily. There are clear tears inside the glass. On the nose, it is rather complex, I find...
Please Don't Hate Me Because I'm Beautiful...
I am lovely, elegant and ever-so-perfectly balanced. Some think that I lack personality, but that's because I do so many things so very well. My harmonious flavors glide smoothly and subtly over the palate. My nose is gentle, but full and rewarding. Take your time with me and appreciate a great, hand-crafted...
A very full masterpiece by Pierre Vaudon
I think this is a great blend - and don't forget this is produced by small artisanal producer Francois Voyer. So this is not a huge brand here selecting those blends.. Lovely Grande Champagne Extra Cognac: Very rich, and balanced. Chapeau Monsieur cellar master Pierre Vaudon!
