Description
De Luze Single Barrel Extra Cognac: Deluxe Cognac from the Masters at De Luze
The decadent De Luze Single Barrel Extra Cognac is a stunning selection of very old eaux-de-vie, distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes harvested in the Grande Champagne growing region.
A limited edition of only 500 bottles, it has gained notoriety amongst collectors due to its age - it contains eaux-de-vie that are over 50 years old - and is the product of one single 350-liter barrel. The oldest eaux-de-vie in this blend were harvested in 1980 at the Domaine Boinaud in the premier cru. The idea of a ‘single barrel assembly’ is often particularly appealing to connoisseurs, as these capture a particular moment, a one-off selection from a single cask, untouched by human hands for its many years of maturation.

Presentation of the Bottle
The De Luze Single Barrel Extra Cognac bottle received an award for its packaging in 2009, a true sign of just how special its presentation is. The stylish silver detailing on both the neck and body of the bottle adds a luxurious, typically ‘De Luze’ deluxe feel. The shape is a rounded bell shape, found somewhere between a traditional decanter and modern spirit bottle. This is certainly a Cognac to display at your next dinner party.
How to Enjoy
The refined floral notes in this aged Cognac, combined with the oaky, cigar box flavors developed over its many decades of maturation, make for a truly unique drinking experience. We recommend enjoying it in a traditional tulip glass, perhaps served as a digestif and sipped alongside a cigar or double espresso.
About De Luze Cognac
The cognac house has a uniquely interesting history, with the origins of the company in New York! Two brothers set off to find success in the New World in the early 19th century. And they did. De Luze is still a successful business with 410 hectares of vineyards in the prime growing area of Cognac. Their philosophy is to create a natural cognac with an elegant and light taste and colour.
