Description

Chateau de Beaulon Extra Rare Cognac: Five Centuries of Expertise

Made from grapes harvested in the Fins Bois cru, Chateau de Beaulon Extra Rare Cognac comes from the Paradise Cellar of Chateau de Beaulon and has been blended from some of the oldest eaux-de-vie stored there. The producer states that this is an expression that has combined the skill of generations; this release for connoisseurs is simply “a masterpiece of time".

Chateau de Beaulon dates back to the 15th Century, when the family De Vinsons built it under the reign of Louis XI. It was purchased by the Beaulon family about 30 years later and passed down through the generations. In the 17th century, the Chateau was passed over to the Bishops of Bordeaux, who took to tending the vineyards and realized the full potential of the area for making quality wines and eaux-de-vie.

Some 300 years later, Christian Thomas became the owner of the Chateau and its vineyards in 1965, and in 1987 it was declared a historical monument. While the world has changed a lot over the years, this house sticks to tradition, only making eaux-de-vie from grapes harvested on-site. The grapes used include Colombard, Folle Blanche and Montils varieties, often abandoned by other growers due to their low yields, and the vineyards are strictly organic, both for the sake of the environment and (of course) for the taste.

Cognac Chateau de Beaulon remains a family-run business under the watchful eye of Christian Thomas, and all aspects of production remain faithful to the traditions of the 17th century. We hope it will stay that way for years to come.

Presentation of the Bottle

The tall, straight bottle is reminiscent of ones often used for Bordeaux wine. It features a detailed label and rich purple foil, matching the elegant presentation box. Each bottle is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

How to Enjoy Chateau de Beaulon Extra Rare Cognac

Created with extraordinary care, this aged Cognac deserves your full attention. Serve neat in tulip glasses at room temperature, letting it rest for 30 seconds before taking the first sip. Perfect as an after-dinner drink, or enjoyed with rich desserts. This Cognac is also the perfect pairing for a fine cigar following an indulgent meal.

About Château de Beaulon Cognac

The beautiful façade and setting of the Chateau de Beaulon Cognac estate is a fitting setting for producing fine cognac. The chateau itself dates back to the year 1480, with it entering into the hands of the Beaulon family in 1510. The family name remains the same to this day, although it is now run by the very capable Christian Thomas. Chateau de Beaulon Cognac has always been, and continues to be, created purely from the fruits of a single vineyard, and is recognized around the world as being a highly desirable, artisan produced cognac.
