Description

Braastad Extra Vingen Cognac: Aged to perfection

Offering a fascinating slant on the flair and adventure that comes with Cognac discovery, we bring you Braastad’s collaboration with the largest ski jump in the world, Vingen. Located in Norway, the links between the brand and the Scandinavian country are strong, so it seems highly fitting that a Cognac that’s 10 years in the making should befit an athletic phenomenon that only a select few will ever dare experience.

The Cognac is the culmination of a blend of eaux-de-vie that were harvested over three generations. Cellar master, Richard Braastad, took a decade to discover the perfect combination of brandies. These were hidden deep within the family stores, necessitating the uncorking of long-forgotten barrels, careful tasting, and carrying out the patient waiting game whereby a master blender shows the same passion and commitment as those brave athletes who fly from the ski jump after which the Cognac is named.

Produced in a strictly limited edition, the result is a Cognac of exceptional quality—powerful, full of character, and one that will be of great interest to connoisseurs and collectors alike.

Presentation of the bottle

Of course, a Cognac that represents such bravery and power should have a decanter befitting of such character. Sleek curves bring to mind the graceful arch of the jump itself that propels the skiers into orbit: the stopper gleams silver and signifies the ledge at the very top of the slope on which the athlete takes an adrenaline-fueled seat prior to launch. The glass itself is etched with the brand name and an image of the flying ski-jumper. The result is an eye-catching bottle that will surely enhance the greatest of liquor collections.

How to enjoy

This is a limited edition that any Cognac aficionado will be keen to taste. The extensive aging has led to well-defined rancio, making it ideal to enjoy in the traditional manner—as a digestif. We also recommend pairing it with a cheese course, and it boasts more than enough character to be enjoyed with a favorite cigar.

About Braastad Cognac

In the heart of Grande Champagne in the village of Jarnac lies the impressive Chateau de Triac. The chateau is the home of Cognac Tiffon, to which the Cognac brand Braastad belongs.

Rubbing shoulders with other famous Cognac houses such as Bisquit or Courvoisier, the brand Braastad was created when a Norwegian named Sverre Braastad married into the Tiffon family.

Known for their devotion to the traditional Cognac producing methods, today the whole process is still carried out at the family premises, and Cognac Braastad’s products are renowned worldwide.
