Top of the Class: Joseph Guy XO Cognac
The Joseph Guy VSOP Cognac has been matured for at least 12 years before being bottled, much longer than the minimum required for an XO-quality Cognac. This showpiece of Joseph Guy comprises - like its younger counterparts - a combination of eaux-de-vie from the Fins Bois and Bons Bois growing regions, lightened by a smaller portion from Petite Champagne. Layered, intense and yet extremely soft, this Cognac features a rich bouquet with notes of oak and fruits including plum and orange peel, followed by a long and balanced finish. An elegant Cognac of absolute top class and value.
Joseph Guy Cognac is a product of a Dutchman, who wanted to create a Cognac brand for his native market that would provide quality at a reasonable price. After extensive research into the market, in 1965 he began collaborating with a Frenchman from the industry, and Cognac Joseph Guy was born. They certainly found the recipe for success: within ten years, Joseph Guy became the number one selling Cognac in Holland. If the price makes one sceptical of the provenance of this Cognac, rest assured its origins are of the highest quality - it has been crafted by none other than the House of Louis Royer, renowned Cognac producer in Jarnac.
Presentation of the Bottle
Voluptuous and elegant, the Joseph Guy XO Cognac never fails to attract the eye. The decanter features a rounded shape with a solid glass base, gold lettering and a weighty golden stopper to match. Of course, a luxury gift box completes the package.
This well-balanced XO Cognac is best appreciated neat in a tulip glass or simply served in a tumbler with ice.
Über Joseph Guy Cognac
Cognac Joseph Guy is the leading cognac in the Netherlands, targeted at a cognac consumer who will want to spend little money for a bottle. This is how the brand was created in the first place: A Dutchman and a cognac producer joined forces to create a, entry level cognac that could be sold at a very reasonable price. In line with the Dutch trading history, Cognac Joseph Guy was made to be sold successfully in the Netherlands, not necessarily internationally. The range is limited from a VS to an XO.
