Bertrand XO Cognac is a delightful blend of Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie that has been aged in oak casks for around 35 years. These eaux-de-vie which are distilled using the traditional method have been carefully selected by the Cellar Master to produce an elegant and powerful Cognac. This Single Estate XO is limited and numbered and is the pride of the Bertrand Domaine. A double gold medal winner it’s complex and balanced and showcases some of the less usual aromas and flavors, such as coffee and cocoa.
The Bertrand family estate is situated in the heart of the Petite Champagne region, where they work full circle, from the vine to the bottle. All the Cognacs are Single Estate production, from Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes which have been harvested exclusively in their own vineyards, which is their guarantee of authenticity and origin. An excellent addition for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Arriving in a slim and stylish bottle, alongside a bespoke box to match - this XO serves well as a lavish gift for someone special. Sophistication is at the centre of the bottling design, as black and gold detailing injects an element of luxury. Meanwhile, those lucky enough to own a bottle will admire the shimmering copper coloring of the eaux-de-vie as it catches the light.
This is a top-quality Cognac to be enjoyed as a digestif at the end of a good meal. Sip it neat to appreciate the Cognac for all its glory. And for those who love a cigar, this XO certainly has more than enough character to be an excellent partner. The depth and complexity of this XO Cognac means it is one to be savored.

Golden colour with reflexes of polished copper. Spicy notes mingled with dried fruits, fine wood, dark chocolate on the nose. On the palate this cognac is smooth and spicy with perfectly integrated alcohol. The finish is medium to long, ending on spices, chocolate, dried fruits and roasted nuts.
The nose has stewed, spiced apples, mangoes and violets. A touch of rhubarb. Absolutely amazing. The palate brings more stewed fruit, toffee apples, vanilla and a little leather before the spices begin to gently unfold. Plenty of interest on the finish with sandalwood, nutmeg, leather, chocolate...
At a family gathering, after dinner, I drank this bottle of cognac. The aroma of flowers and fruits wrapped around the whole house, and the fragrance of wood and cocoa surrounded the glass, which was a good prelude. After drinking a sip of cognac, the aromas of candied fruit, cocoa coffee, and...
This a awesome cognac incredible rich.. flavor bomb! Delivers stewed fruits, peaches, plums, raisins, sultanas, orange rind, rich vanilla cream, chocolate, roasted hazelnuts and cashews, cacao, dark oak, sweet grapes, toffee, cedar and a few spices!
Bertrand is a producer that doesn't get the attention they deserve. We visited them in 2017 and discovered their range. The traditional range is a bit commercial, and easy to like. And then they also have a range of special products more for the enthusiasts. This XO has an age around 35 years, and...
Bertrand XO is a blend of Petite Champagne aged 35 and 40 years. Just a lovely nose, with dried fruits, and a little vanilla and wood spice. I want to crawl into the glass!!! The palate is alive with dried and candied fruits, some kind of nut, and a hint of chocolate? The finish is extremely long,...
First time we have tried this particular cognac. We found it very pleasant and not strong or any overpowering vapour. Strong toffee and vanilla flavours throughout and has a slight bite towards the end. There is no distinct rancio. Overall, it is one very nice cognac and I would not hesitate to...
I had never heard of Bertrand cognac. Then I tasted their XO, really rich and balanced. The aromas are fantastic! The finish could be a little less punchy though. The price could be slightly lower (10% or so), on the other hand you support the Bertrand family.. so that's totally fair to pay
