Passionate cognac enthusiast from Norway
Some lack of character
This is a 30 year old cognac from the Bons Bois region. Mature Bons Bois can be very good, or it can be rater ignorable. It will be interesting to see what this will be.
This cognac has a rather bright golden color. I experience it as very shy on the nose. I find notes of fresh bread and some acid notes of dried fruit. But it is hard to get a full impression. In mouth it is still a bit shy. It feels a bit watery. I find some spices in the front of the mouth, but not very much more. It is very short. The finish also has some spices, but is short.
I am a bit disappointed. The best things to say about this cognac is that it is cheap and has a very clean expression. You can not feel the alcohol. I am sure it is perfect to use in cocktails. But stand alone it clearly lacks character. It is said to think of that someone has used thirty years to create this cognac.

In short, how does the cognac feel in your mouth?
