Beschreibung
Godet Pineau Rosé: Summer in a Bottle
Particularly light and elegant, the Godet Pineau de Charentes Rosé is characterized by sweet berry notes and a supple finish. This ruby-tinged aperitif wine blends two-thirds freshly pressed grapes with one-third young Cognac, all from the same estate, and has been matured for at least a year, including 8 months in oak. To receive the Pineau de Charentes AOC, the grape must and Cognac eau-de-vie must come from the same vineyard.
The oceanic climate of La Rochelle is characterized by a remarkable amount of sunshine, providing slight variations in temperature which result in a particularly slow ripening of grapes. Crossed by the Charente, the vineyards here are located on rocky hillsides that give a distinct sense of terroir to the wines and Cognacs which define the region.
Founded in 1782, the House of Godet ranges amongst the oldest Cognac houses. The Godet family has been based in the seaside town and former trading hub La Rochelle for 400 years and since the very beginnings of Cognac production, they have played an important role in perfecting this culture. Cognac Godet has been in the hands of the same family for an astonishing 15 generations, who have placed tradition and excellence at the heart of their business. Godet is also one of the few Cognac producers who focus on cultivating and using the Folle Blanche grape variety, the original Cognac grape.
The Godet family's expertise in wine-making results in outstanding wine and Pineau de Charentes as well as Cognac - an excellent standing for a family-run company. The business is headed by Godet president Jean-Jacques Godet, assisted by his three sons Jean Eduard, Maxime and Cyril.
Presentation of the Bottle
Shown in a tall, elegant bottle, this expression is simplicity itself. The gold foil and subdued colors on the label perfectly accentuate the liquid contained inside.
How to Serve Godet Pineau Rosé
The House of Godet recommends serving their Pineau Rosé chilled, as an aperitif or in a range of cocktails. Try it with cold hors d'oeuvres, foie gras, Roquefort cheese or simply on its own before dinner. Alternatively, serve alongside chocolate desserts.
