Painturaud Frères Generations Grande Champagne Cognac
The Painturaud Frères Generations Grande Champagne Cognac is a rare delight. Created from Ugni Blanc eau-de-vie taken from a single oak cask stored for over 60 years within the deepest cellar of J. Painturaud, this really does offer a truly sublime tasting experience. Over half a century of aging have imparted some of the rarest, most sought-after aromas and flavors, bursting with tobacco, leather, spices, cinnamon, and cocoa. Bottled at 40.5% ABV, this is an intense expression that brings with it the very finest characteristics of old Premier Cru Cognac.
Maison Paintraud Frères really came to life in 1934, following the great phylloxera crisis, when Guy Painuraud began marketing his own Cognacs and Pineaux des Charentes under the family name. Since 2010, the son of Guy Painturaud (Jaques) has passed the baton on to his own sons. Today, the quartet Jean-Phillipe, Vincent, Matthieu and Emmanuel represent the 4th generation of family tradition and Cognac expertise. The brand embodies everything that is great about the prestigious Grande Champagne terroir, and you can expect nothing less than a careful curation of top-of-the-range, quality Cognac products.
Presentation of the Bottle
Shown in a classic apothecary-style bottle to reflect its mature age, this release has a timeless elegance. The simple shape is decorated with an antique label featuring calligraphy text, a natural wood stopper, copper ribbon and wax stamp.
How to Enjoy Painturaud Frères Generations Grande Champagne Cognac
This is definitely a Cognac that should never, ever be rushed. Enjoy at the end of a splendid meal, in the company of your nearest and dearest. Serve in tulip glasses at an ambient temperature and enjoy this unforgettable tasting experience.

The king of wood and fruit

Impressive and unique but missing something.
I really appreciated the heat of the cinnamon, wood and warming vanilla on the palette but the mouthfeel to me was very watery and not sumptuous or luxurious. The lingering after taste is real! To me it was mostly wood with low cocoa and somewhat tannic. This cognac would be amazing if it had a silkier...
King of Aftertaste
I've always shopped for 180 to 250 euros, which means I've always had fun with these variations of similar flavours. But when I came across this wine from PainturaudFrères, it felt like it left me in special awe. I tasted this liquid with my family during the Chinese New Year festival, the Chinese...
Über Painturaud Freres
Located near Segonzac, in the very heart of Premier Cru Grande Champagne country, Painturaud Frères Cognac has a history that can be traced back to the end of the 1800s. With 40 hectares of vines planted over rolling hillsides, the main crop is composed of the Ugni Blanc grape, with a smattering of Colombard and Montils. They also grow a small amount of red grapes – Merlot and Cabernet Franc – for production of red Pineaux des Charentes.
