A Grande Champagne “Tresor” Cognac
Believed to be one of the most remarkable of the Grosperrin cellar, due to its scarcity. The Grosperrin "Tresor" N°34 Grande Champagne Cognac is exactly as the name suggests - a real rare treasure. It has been aged for a very long time in its place of origin, in a large paved cellar.
It has all of the character of a signature Cognac, and is certainly a bottle for collectors. Only three bottles exist of this rare treasure.
What is it about the Grande Champagne that makes it so spectacular for producing Cognac? The soil is completely unique and unlike anywhere else; the acidity is optimal for Cognac, due to the high chalk content and easy drainage of the soil. Grosperrin believes that the quality of a Cognac is directly related to the quality of the individual producing and maturing it. By visiting each winegrower and vineyard, hearing the story of the distillery and maturing techniques, he understands the precious nature of a Cognac before even tasting it. Each one of the Cognacs that Grosperrin selects and ages for the Collection tells its own story - one of older Cognac making techniques, without technology or guaranteed abundant harvests.
Bottled at a slightly higher proof of 45,1° ABV, it arrives in a tall bottle and a wooden box.
