Vaudon Extra Cognac
Anbaugebiet (Cru) & Boden: Fins Bois
An Extra Cognac blend of Grande Champagne and Fins Bois eaux-de-vie
The rebirth of a very old Cognac, this Hors d’Age is the result of a beautiful marriage between two exclusive crus. Vaudon Extra Cognac has been aged for more than 30 years, often extending far beyond its minimum age requirement. Pierre Vaudon is indeed the cellar master of Francois Voyer, and also owns his own vineyards to create his own little piece of heaven in a bottle. Located in Echallat, it covers approximately 60 hectares in the Grande Champagne and Fins Bois.
The Grande Champagne is also known as the Premier Cru - and with good reason. Thanks to the unique geological makeup of the soil, and its high chalk content, along with a maritime climate and sun-drenched hills it makes for very fine eaux-de-vie. It is best characterized for its lengthy finish and delicate aromas.
The Fins Bois envelops the Grande, Petite Champagne and Borderies crus and also produces light, floral eaux-de-vie. The blend between the two in this instance is really quite special.
