Pierre Morin Cognac

Pierre Morin Cognac

Pierre Morin Cognac comes under the umbrella of the Croizet Cognac house, although it is a separate brand in its own right.  The history of the house can be traced back over two centuries, and one of the characteristics is the strong feminine influence that's been key throughout this time.  This has led to a truly individual touch to all of the Cognacs produced - one that appeals to both male and female Cognac drinkers throughout the world.

History of Pierre Morin Cognac

The domaine of Croizet (of which Pierre Morin Cognac is a part) has a history dating back over 200 years.  Located in the small village of Lanta, in the south of the Charente region, this family run house has changed little in its creative ethos since its inception.  Over the decades there have been many strong willed women in the family, each of whom has successfully halped the business remain dynamic in its evolution, yet still remaining true to the traditional values of a small, family run house.

One of the most notable of these ladies was Amelina, who successfully managed the family business throughout the phylloxera crisis in the late 1800's - no mean feat as the vineyards of Cognac and Europe were ravaged by this virulent pest, with many razed to the ground.

Pierre Morin Cognac Today

Today the house is in the capable hands of Leopold Croziet. He's in the fortunate position of having had centuries of passion, expertise, and knowledge handed down to him, and even though he might not have received what one would percieve as a 'professional' education in the business, rest assured that he is truly an expert in his field.

The house remains, as it always has been, a family run business, with all aspects of the Cognac making procedure - from the growing of the grapes right through to the bottling of the finished products - carried out in house.  They use only eaux-de-vie made from their own soils, and shun using any chemicals throughout the growing and harvesting process.
