Description

Camus Cuvee 5.150 Cognac: a Legacy of Five Generations

Five rare eaux-de-vie from five different Cognac growing regions have been blended to produce the Camus Cuvee 5.150 Cognac: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fin Bois, Bon Bois and Borderies come together in one expression, presented in a delightfully irregular Baccarat Crystal decanter.

Since Jean-Baptise Camus founded his company in 1863, four generations have followed in his footsteps to turn this small winegrower into a world-renowned Cognac house of distinction. Their family-owned vineyards are part of a magnificent estate of 280 hectares (691 acres), located in the very heart of Cognac.

This extraordinary release has been designed as a celebration of the dedication of the five generations of hard work that have gone into bringing the House of Camus to where it is today. The temperament of Jean-Baptiste Camus is represented by the nobility and the structure of Bons Bois; a generous Fins Bois eaux-de-vie has been selected to represent Gaston Camus; the Petite Champagne has been chosen to pay homage to Michel Camus, with understated elegance, and the persistence of a Borderies cru suggests the delicate passion and integrity of Jean-Paul Camus. Finally, a portion of Grande Champagne brings to mind the instinctive spirit of Cyril Camus, driven by a desire to take his family legacy further and higher.

"When you taste an exceptional cognac, you are left with a lasting memory in your heart, as if sculpted by emotion. This is precisely what we were thinking of when we blended the Cuvée 5.150: the strength of the memory that it will leave behind." - Cyril Camus

Presentation of the Bottle

The Camus Cuvee 5.150 Anniversary Cognac is a limited edition of 1,492 Baccarat crystal decanters, each individually numbered and presented in a lacquered black case with a mirrored interior. The first 150 bottles also include a 100ml numbered sample, usually a set reserved for the Camus Cognac library. These miniatures are a rare opportunity to own the very last sample taken by the Cellar Master just before the decanters were filled.

About Camus Cognac

Since 1863, five generations of the Camus family have cultivated a single-minded passion for crafting great Cognac with their own style. Laid across 180 hectares in the smallest and rarest AOC cru - the Borderies - the Camus family has always been deeply involved in winemaking and distilling. It is this unbreakable bond between the land, the traditions and the people who live on it that helps them craft superb Cognacs. Today, it is Cyril Camus who is the bearer of all family tradition and oversees the undisputed quality of Camus Cognac. Export development and product development remain at the top, with a passion for innovation. Cyril Camus has entirely modernized the Cognac house’s interiors, relying on a fresh new take on Cognac for the new century. Instead of leather, wood and velvet in shades of brown, he opts for light colors and a combination of tradition and modern design.
