Description
Larsen Viking Ship Night Blue
The Cognac housed within this ornate decanter is a blend of eaux-de-vie from the two most prestigious crus of Grande and Petite Champagne and has been produced, unaltered since the creation of the decanter in 1952. Following a very gradual double distillation, the Cognac is allowed to mature in delicately burnt barrels from the Tronçais forest for a minimum of six years. It is quite rare to see the use of oak from the Tronçais forest; the Sessile oak which is used contains a tiny amount of tannins which when combined with the ever so slight burnout of the barrels in Larsen’s cooperage, delivers the classic Larsen style Cognac - light, fruity and extremely elegant.
The Larsen family who still manage the Cognac House today have always been extremely proud of their Nordic heritage. To commemorate their roots they have produced this Fine Champagne Cognac and bottled it in the form of viking ships since 1952. It is the ideal purchase for those who are both Cognac connoisseurs and art collectors.
Presentation of the bottle:
Where to begin with this stunning and extravagant decanter? Created to honor the Larsen family’s Nordic heritage, it is crafted from genuine Limoges porcelain painted in a deep, midnight blue and hand finished in 24 carat gold. This dazzling work-of-art is ideal for those who collect decorative decanters and will certainly make a fantastic talking point with dinner guests.
How to enjoy:
This delightful Cognac that provides both elegance and power to the palate is best enjoyed neat as an accompaniment to coffee, following a fabulous meal.
About Larsen Cognac
Known as ‘The Cognac of Vikings,’ Larsen Cognac has striven to produce and offer products of high quality at selected points of sale throughout the world.
A family run concern, the story of Cognac Larsen dates back to 1926 when Jens Reidar Larsen made the move from his home country of Norway to France. Seduced by the quality of the brandy that came from the town of Cognac, he devoted much time and effort to become a connoisseur in the subject, and naturally progressed to owning and running his own Cognac house.
Today, Larsen Cognacs are as well known for their luxury packaging as the quality of their eaux-de-vie, with Limoges Porcelain and Baccarat Crystal featuring strongly with many of their premium Cognacs.
