The collection behind this book took longer to assemble than most careers. Saizeau and Monget drew on private archives, the vaults of major Cognac houses, institutional holdings, and private collectors across France to build a visual record of how Cognac presented itself to the world.
The result is 193 pages of advertising material most people have never seen in one place: lithographic posters, enamelled metal panels, cardboard point-of-sale displays, decorative objects, and archival documents, from the era of Louis XIV to the age of the TGV.
