Tasting review

No. 90 XO Ovation

Eye: Deep red amber.

Nose: The initial attack is fresh and tart, characterised by pear and quince, this mellows to give way to herbaceous notes alongside hints of dried fruits and nuts with an interesting and enjoyable aroma of almond.

Palate: The aromas presented by the nose follow through to the palate which is well-structured, powerful and full of flavor.

No. 76 XO Tradition

Eye: Dark reddish mahogany.

Nose: The quality of this Cognac is established immediately on the nose. The initial bouquet presents us with an abundance of caramelised peaches, almond and candied fruit aromas, layered with notes of leather and honey and all lifted by delicate floral tones.

Palate: A seductive and expressive palate, the first attack of spicy vitality is wonderfully balanced by the delicious sweetness of ripe fruits and honey, resulting in a harmonious and rounded palate.

No. 53 XO Perfection

Eye: Rich topaz colour.

Nose: An intoxicating first aroma, due to the long years spent aging in wood, mellows to reveal notes of wood, dried fruits and tobacco. A rich and indulgent nose.

Palate: A sumptuous, balanced yet vibrant palate. Pepper and spices greet us initially, before evolving to bring us flavors of dark chocolate, figs and herbs. A complex, exquisite and long finish.

About Tesseron Cognac

Tesseron Cognac specializes in high-end Cognac, exclusively producing “XO and beyond” blends from their ancestral home in Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, which lies between Cognac and Angouleme. When founder Abel Tesseron, whose face features on the company’s logo, acquired the property in the late 19th century, he patiently conserved his stocks of eaux-de-vie in the 12th-century crypt located deep underneath the domain, selling his matured masterpieces to various larger Cognac houses. These reserved and rare stocks have become legendary amongst Cognac connoisseurs the world over. It was, however, only in 2003 that the fourth generation of Tesserons made the decision to release a range under their own name, armed with an unrivalled Cognac craftsmanship and fueled by the legacy left by their grandfather, the iconic brand Tesseron Cognac was born.

The Tesserons are also active in wine production, owning the esteemed Chateau Pontet-Canet, a Pauillac classified property producing Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux Wine.
