History of Cognac Le Roch

During his career as a broker and wholesaler, Jean Grosperrin soon came to realize that many wine producers had many hidden treasures within their cellars. It is common practice for extremely old barrels of cognac to be passed down through the generations, and Jean used his many contacts to be able to purchase some of these much sought after cognacs.

His vision was to create quality cognacs that celebrated these older years, rather than their unique flavours becoming forever lost in blends produced by the some of the larger and more commercial houses. Committed to this belief, his cognac house began to produce eaux-de-vie that would be suited to all levels of palate and price.

Le Roch Cognac Today

Guilhem Grosperrin heads this family run house today. All of their cognacs are produced under the strictest of control – and Le Roch cognacs are created from grapes that come from both the Petite and Grande Champagne areas. And whilst the company does, of course, embrace modern technology in the creation of their wares, traditional methods is what it is all about.

Grosperrin is convinced that others share his passion of providing cognacs to the public that are virtually direct from the grower, as opposed to always purchasing from the larger trading houses.

News, Products and Prices

There are two cognacs produced under the brand Le Roch. These are the Le Roch VSOP Petite Champagne – a blend of three cognacs, and the Le Roch XO Extra Old Grande Champagne produced from the Petite and Grande Champagne regions and can be purchased for around €85 euros.
