François Voyer Cognac

François Voyer Cognac

The 28 hectares of vineyards at François Voyer are situated in the Grande Champagne region, the Premier Cru of Cognac, renowned for producing eaux-de-vie with aromatic power and qualities suited to extended aging. François Voyer Cognac is a family-run Cognac house that is passionate about every detail of production, which is why their bottles can be found gracing the shelves of the best restaurants in France: Ducasse, Lucas Carton, Laurent and more. The François Voyer family vineyards are in Verrières and Ambleville and their house has been a home to Cognac production since the 1870s. Their product range is classical, with a range of young expressions as well as exceptionally old blends and vintage bottles. The house of Voyer fosters traditional knowledge and attention to detail; here, Cognac isn’t just made -- it’s crafted from scratch.

History of Francois Voyer

The Chauchet-Voyer family have been cultivating their vineyards since the French Revolution in the villages of Verrières and Ambleville, both prime locations in the Grande Champagne region and home to many Cognac producers. At the end of the nineteenth century, Paul André was one of only a handful of winegrowers in the area distilling the fruits of his harvest himself rather than selling it. Today, thanks to him, the oldest vintage in Voyer's cellar is more than 70 years old.

Staying true to their region, François Voyer Cognac is made solely with grapes from the Grande Champagne. The family distills and bottles everything in-house in order to oversee every detail and uphold their traditional values in Cognac making. The expert knowledge of the family has been passed from father to son for five generations, since 1870.

Francois Voyer Today

Dedicated to maintaining a sustainable agriculture approach to protect biodiversity and public health, François Voyer was one of the first 20 domains to obtain the High Environmental Value (HEV) certification. This certification is only given by the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC) organisation following a thorough auditing procedure.

Today, the house of François Voyer works with many winegrowers from several communes in the Grande Champagne region. The house was passed on to its current Cellar Master, Pierre Vaudon, to carry on its legacy for years to come. In his hands, the company has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including the coveted Gold Oak Leaf from the San Francisco World Spirit Competition

Although François Voyer Cognac can be found in over 30 countries around the world, it’s still one of France’s best-hidden treasures. Once you seek it out, you won’t regret it.
