History of Daviaud Cognac

Maison Daviaud Cognac was established centuries ago. Its origins trace back to the early days of cognac production, rooted in a rich history as a Single Estate Cognac and a Cognac de Bouilleur de Cru. This unique classification signifies a winegrower who distills exclusively from their own production, a tradition that Maison Daviaud has honored through the generations.

From its early beginnings, Maison Daviaud has been firmly established as a respected winegrower in the Cognac region. Their commitment to traditional methods and preserving the unique characteristics of their terroir has been a cornerstone of their legacy, ensuring that each bottle of Daviaud Cognac embodies centuries of expertise and passion.

Daviaud Cognac Today

Today, Maison Daviaud Cognac continues to uphold the traditions and values that have defined it for generations. Nestled in Segonzac, at the heart of Grande Champagne, the premier cru of Cognac, their 40-hectare family vineyard is the source of all the wines used in their cognac production. This commitment to single-estate production guarantees the authenticity and quality of their products.

Embracing simplicity and natural processes, just like their ancestors, Maison Daviaud ensures that each step of the cognac-making process, from distillation to aging, reflects the purity of their terroir and the family's time-honored methods. Complete control over production underlines their independence and expertise.

In their cellars, the best barrels are carefully selected each year to create a limited series of 500 exceptional bottles, a tribute to the finesse and complexity of their cognac. These are brut de fut cognacs, made without filtration, and their presentation reflects the heritage and craftsmanship of the Maison. The bottles, with their simple lines and handwritten information, evoke the sample bottles used by their ancestors, while the thrice-sealed wax cork mirrors the sealing of a barrel, ensuring the cognac's vintage authenticity.
