The Cognac house of Coutanseaux Ainé has specialised in creating eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne region for over 300 years.  They are unique in the fact that they only produce an Hors d'age Cognac, each bottle being one of a kind, and can be personalised with the name of the person who purchases it.  Each and every bottle is created with passion, knowledge, and the blend contains Cognacs that are aged for a minimum of 40 years.

History of Coutanseaux Ainé Cognac

The house of Coutanseaux Ainé came into being during the reign of Louis VS, in 1767.  There have been many prestigious honors during the history of th house, including being the flagship of Maison Rouyet Guillet, and being the official Cognac suplier to the Royal Court of Sweden.

Since their inception the house has been scrupulous about only selecting the very best eaux-de-vie from the premier terroir of the region - Grande Champagne.  The ethos has always been to create superbly aged Cognacs of the highest quality, and this remains true to this day.

It tends to be that the house of Coutanseaux Ainé Cognac is unknown to most.  But for the true aficionado, this ancient house is the epitome of the highest degree of Cognac excellence.  

Today it's still possible to own their Cognac, with each bottle purchased being a unique creation, and one that contains a blend of eaux-de-vie that's been aged for a minimum of four decades.

Products, News, and Andecdotes

The house of Coutanseaux Ainé Cognac hit the news in recent years when a bottle of a 1767 vintage was found nestling in a private cellar.  On being auctioned it sold for a massive 164,000 euros, at the time the highest ever price realized for a bottle of Cognac.  The new owners were the Wellesley Hotel, Knightsbridge, London.

For those who want to own a bottle of Coutanseaux Ainé prestigious Cognac, then you're guaranteed of a unique purchase.  

The bottle is hand blown, and the Cognac a shade of burnt brown.  The youngest element in the Grande Champagne blend is aged for 40 years - and others much older.  The bottle itself can be personalized with the name of the purchaser.  Truly a one of a kind...
