History of Blanleuil et Fils Cognac

You have to look right back to the end of the 18th century to discover the early roots of Blanleuil et Fils Cognac. Eight generations before the current owners, the family Blanleuil settled in Criteuil la Magdeleine – a village situated 23kms south of the town of Cognac – and the story of Blanleuil Cognac began.

The location was perfect for the production of grapes, with the close proximity to the ocean providing a mild micro-climate year round.

Blanleuil et Fils Cognac Today

Today the cognac house is run by Roger and Marine Blanleuil and their sons, Jerome and Nicolas. They are the eighth generation to be the proprietors, and not only create and sell their eaux-de-vie, but also offer holiday accommodation in beautiful lodgings. This includes two separate cottages that house six and eight people respectively.

Utilising the latest in technology, the Blanleuil family sell their cognacs directly via their website, as well as travelling around various fairs and events held throughout France each year.
