Rouyer, Guillet & Cie 1875 Vintage Grande Fine Champagne contains a blend of Petite and Grande Champagne of which Folle Blanche grapes where harvested in 1875, shortly before Phylloxera struck the European vineyards and a estimated 90% was destroyed. It took till 1893 before production was resumed.
Rouyer Guillet is a French Cognac house which was founded in 1701 by Philippe Guillet, mayor of the City of Cognac in 1687. In 1801, through marriage, Rouyer joined the company due to which the name changed in Rouyer, Guillet & Ice, later simplified to Rouyer Guillet. In 1992 CCG took over control of the company which is still active.
