The origin of the Mauxion family dates back to 1575 when Pierre Mauxion was born in the village of Houlette. Today the estate is still home to the Mauxion family after thirteen generations. Antoine Mauxion was the first of the family to produce eaux-de-vie, back in 1743, and since then ten generations have followed in his footsteps. Today the house of Mauxion Selection continues to embrace original traditions with regards to caring for the vineyard and producing high class, quality eaux-de-vie.
Uniquely, Mauxion Selection offers a range of single cru expressions, available a range of sizes. All cognacs produced by Mauxion Selection come from the 6 prestigious terroirs of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Bois Ordinaires. To preserve the flavor of their eaux-de-vie, Mauxion Selection Cognac is bottled at cask strength without any blending or reduction; allowing the eaux-de-vie to develop with exceptional complexity and depth. Whilst the attentive selection process may mean that quantity is limited, it ensures a Cognac of unrivalled quality, every time.

Boasting almost 300 years of Cognac history, Mauxion Selection began as a Cognac house in 1753 when Antoine Mauxion produced the company's very first eaux-de-vie on the family vineyard located in the heart of the Cognac region. Over the decades, thirteen generations of the Mauxion family have benefitted from the passing down of artisanal knowledge and expertise. As to be expected, each generation has played a key role in keeping their traditions alive and maintaining the impressive successful Mauxion family heritage.
Cognac Mauxion Selection is a unique blend of historic and exquisite Cognac from four of the six legally designated and protected Cognac defined areas (called appellations) in France since 1909: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois. Each district was set aside as legislated grapes growers and Cognac wine producers. Their selection was based on their unique soil qualities, temperature, aroma and ideal tastes of their Cognac.
Offering exclusive eaux-de-vie that has undergone a complex traditional method of production, Mauxion Selection has earned a reputation for selecting extra special, vintage-tasting Cognac. At the House of Mauxion Selection, the cellar masters continue to undergo an extremely careful selection process. Whilst this can mean that the bottles are limited in quantity - it ensures the Cognac excels in utmost quality.
The Mauxion Selection Cognac range is offered in various different sizes, so you can choose a size that fits your needs perfectly. Eaux-de-vie are available in bottles as little as 20cl or as large as 3L decanters. To guarantee authenticity - all bottles are numbered and certificated by the house of Mauxion Selection which includes details of the origin and production date of each Cognac.
