Cognac Leyrat is part of the expansive estate owned by Francis and Elodie Abecassis, sister brand of Cognac Le Reviseur, ABK6 and Grands Domaines. Produced from the fruits of a single estate, the wines are distilled on the less in small copper stills and the eaux-de-vie matured in temperature-controlled cellars. It is this combination of traditional methods and modern technology that creates the stunning Leyrat expressions that have won awards around the world.

The father and daughter team of Francis and Elodie manage a state-of-the-art production empire underneath the umbrella of Domaines Francis Abécassis, with each brand boasting its own distillery.
For nearly a century, Cognac Leyrat has been renowned for the remarkable elegance of its old Fins Bois eaux-de-vie. An exceptional estate, located on the top of a hill with remarkable chalky subsoil, the Chez Maillard vineyard produces a very fruity and aromatic wine from its 222 acres. The distillation is performed on the lees with very round heads, to give finesse and softness to the eaux-de-vie, while the maturation period is specifically designed to preserve freshness and delicacy. In order to highlight their great complexity, some of the Leyrat Cognacs are aged for a very long time, often even several decades, ideally in the Paradis cellar. The combination of typical Fins Bois clay mixed with the chalky soils at Chez Maillard reveals fruity notes and refined touches of white blossom. It is this elegance and aromatic richness that makes Leyrat the flagship brand for gastronomy pairings at Domaines Francis Abécassis.
With seemingly endless acres of vines, sustainable methods and thermo-controlled cellars, Cognac Leyrat has carved itself a serious name in the industry and many Leyrat expressions have won prestigious awards around the globe. Domaines Francis Abécassis is one of the most awarded Cognac producers around the world, and Leyrat is no exception. Included in this lineup is the Cognac Leyrat XO Vieille Réserve, awarded gold at the 2011 International Spirits Competition, Leyrat Glory Extra Cognac which was awarded gold at the 2013 International Wine and Spirits Competition and Leyrat XO Hors D'Age Cognac which was awarded gold at the 2019 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
