Description

Sempé’s Bas-Armagnac 1994 is a 90s Icon for Vintage Fiends

With this vintage brandy that sits towards the more floral end of the taste spectrum, award-winning Armagnac house Sempé has exquisitely bottled the taste of 1994. Bas-Armagnac 1994 Sempé was distilled in Panjas, in southwest France’s Gers department, one of the most famous Armagnac areas where the flavors can be as diverse as their years of harvest.

Sempé is a well-known house in the lower Armagnac region. It was founded in 1934 by local Gascon Abel Sempé, an important member of the French Resistance and later a senator. He particularly strengthened the brand throughout the 1950s, traveling to promote it and cementing its reputable status. Sempé seeks for their eaux-de-vie to always be smooth and round - with a signature balance and long finish - to best reflect the terroir upon which they are produced.

Bas-Armagnac 1994 Sempé offers a fruity, ample bouquet. Its flavor is a lightly-spiced vanilla, smooth on the palate and nice and lingering to finish. Sempé’s golden rule is that their products are made to be shared, and this vintage eau-de-vie is no different. It comes in a Milady bottle, alluring with deep amber tones alongside touches of straw gold. The bottle is elegantly structured and decorated with gold trimmings, Sempé’s wax seal standing proud at the bottom of its neck.

Sempé has received almost 100 awards since its creation in 1934, most recently winning gold in 2016 for their fine three-star Armagnac blend.

Bas-Armagnac 1994 Sempé is a fine example of a tasteful trip back in time, an immaculate portal to an iconic decade, and a proud representation of a beloved region.
