Among the array of artisanal trading houses in the lower Armagnac region of France is Sempé. It was founded in 1934 by local Gascon Abel Sempé, an important member of the French Resistance and later a senator. He set the blueprint for Sempé’s eaux-de-vie to always be smooth and round - with a signature balance and long finish - to best reflect the terroir upon which they are produced.

Armagnac 1990 Sempé begins with a boisterous bouquet of stewed fruits. On the palate it has an ample taste with a pleasant toastiness and a dash of spice. Its characteristic structure is cleverly juxtaposed by its luxurious Milady bottle with delicate labelling and gold lettering.

Sempé won a silver medal for its AOC Armagnac Vintage 1990 in the Paris General Agricultural Competition of 2014. Alongside this prize, Sempé has also won almost 100 awards since its creation in 1934, both for its vintage Armagnacs and expert blends.
