Armagnac 1950 Represents Masterful Maturity from Sempé

From James Dean to Judy Garland, recall all the classics of the 1950s with Sempé’s voluptuous vintage offering. Armagnac 1950 Sempé was distilled in Panjas, in southwest France’s Gers department. As one of the most valued and historical areas for Armagnac production, it ensures that the flavors of each Armagnac are able to be as diverse and distinct as their years of harvest.

Armagnac 1950 Sempé comes from Sempé’s Great Reserve, which has been storing vintage eaux-de-vie since the trading house was founded in 1934. Local Gascon Abel Sempé started the business, and he was also an important member of the French Resistance - even later becoming a senator. He particularly strengthened the brand throughout the 1950s, traveling to promote it and cementing its reputable status.

For each of their vintage brandies, Sempé seeks to uphold their founder’s original triple motto of ‘aroma, roundness and length.’ They also aim to achieve a signature balance and long finish to best reflect the terroir upon which they are produced.

Armagnac 1950 Sempé is no exception, enchanting with rich, ample flavors and a refined roundness. It comes in a Milady bottle, with an elegant body and luxurious allure. Its mix of mahogany and amber colors captivates alongside its quaint labelling and large wax seal.

Sempé has received almost 100 awards since its creation in 1934, most recently winning gold in 2016 for their fine three-star Armagnac blend. Armagnac 1950 Sempé is thus in great company, a worthy addition to a proud collection of both vintage and blended eaux-de-vie.
