An Armagnac Full of Character Forty Years in the Making

Puységur Armagnac 1980 from Puységur contains richness and rancio, forming a delectable vintage brandy that acts as a tasty timestamp of 1980. An eau-de-vie bottled forty years ago, Puységur Armagnac 1980 was distilled in the treasured terroirs of the Gers department.

Award-winning Armagnac house Puységur is situated in the heart of the lower Armagnac region of southwest France. It is named after Jacques de Chastenet de Puységur, a 17th century Marquis and advisor to King Louis XIII who was born by the ancient towers that guarded the area for centuries. His son was Maréchal de Puységur, Knight of the Orders of the King and of Saint-Louis. As a result of this illustrious history, Puységur is motivated by ancestral enrichment to produce their high quality eaux-de-vie, such as Puységur Armagnac 1980.

This vintage Armagnac has a deep and intense character, with distinct, rich notes of wood over spicy flavors and a long aromatic finish. Notes of earthy rancio accompany the Armagnac, as it is over 35 years old.

Puységur Armagnac 1980 is presented in an Ariane bottle, which provides luxury, soft lines and elegance. The color of the brandy is an intoxicating deep mahogany that contrasts beautifully with Puységur’s light gold detailing, and the bottle itself is first introduced from within a wooden box - a reminder of the hands-on harvesting aspect that went into creating the product all those years ago.

Puségur Armagnac 1980 is just one in a series of award-winning brandies from Puységur. In 2017, they were recognised by the World Armagnac Awards for their Hors D’Age Extra Premium.

Armagnac connaisseurs will surely be delighted by this fine vintage eau-de-vie.
