Description

The Armagnac 1978 Gamme Brut

The Armagnac 1978 Gamme Brut is one of the many delectable, vintage offerings from the house of Jean Cavé. This vintage eau-de-vie is produced with passion and patience in the heart of the Pays de Gascogne region’s very best production areas.

Careful production ensures that distilling is performed with the greatest care and close attention. As this is a vintage Armagnac, like all of the vintage eau-de-vie, at the house of Jean Cavé - blending is not part of the process.

In order to curate exceptional quality and extra special taste, the Armagnac 1978 Gamme Brut is preserved in old oak barrels, which accentuate the presence and fullness of its fruity notes. Meanwhile, over time, this Armagnac will take aromas from the wood, evolving into a rich mahogany colour until the experts of Jean Cavé are sure that the Armagnac 1978 has reached its prime and is ready to be bottled.

Situated amidst the Bas-Armagnac region, the house of Jean Cavé boasts four generations of expertise in the art of distilling and aging, both vintage and blended Armagnac brandies. With more than 135 years of tradition passed down through the families four generations, the house of Jean Cavé comprises a vast range of unique products that vary not just in age, but in taste and blend too.

Presentation of the bottle

The Armagnac 1978 Gamme Brut features a luxurious round bottle shape, with a heavy base and a slender neck. The bottle’s perfect proportions showcase the fine quality and the Armagnacs deep colouring with pure class and elegance.

How to enjoy

Vintage Armagnacs should be enjoyed neat or with a glass of water and served as a digestive at the end of a meal. Before drinking, swirl the glass around, whilst being careful not to inhale the aromas as you drink. Instead, enjoy the sensation as the aromas swim across the taste palette. For a more adventurous tasting, Armagnac 1978 Gamme Brut can be accompanied with coffee or more traditionally - a cigar.
