Armagnac Jean Cavé 1960
Description
Armagnac 1960 - A Frank Eau-de-Vie With a Family History
At once fresh, frank and floral, this versatile vintage is endlessly impressive. Distilled in traditional oak barrels and from esteemed terroir in the Gascon area, it offers a ravishing ride back to 1960.
Armagnac 1960 was produced by Jean Cavé, who is now in its fourth generation of family success that began all the way back in 1883. Jean Cavé founded the business, shifting his sights from being a local winegrower in Lannepax to establishing an Armagnac business with his wife and children.
This vintage eau-de-vie delights the senses from the get-go, first appearing in a charming Basquaise bottle with red and green detailing that perfectly house the brown liquor. Flecks of old copper add to the color scheme to achieve a bright and clear effect.
On the nose, Armagnac 1960 is delectable, notes of roasted coffee and dried flowers forming an irresistible mix. On the palate, the tasting experience is at once frank and balanced. First comes the floral note, followed by white fruits married with mild spices. A nice length is achieved, and it’s accompanied by subtlety, elegance and a lovely freshness. The finish on the palate is harmonious and long lasting, with beautiful iodine notes rounding out the finale.
For Armagnac connaisseurs looking for a vintage eau-de-vie that balances all the best things in life, this one’s on the money.
