Armagnac Duc Moisans XO
Description
Duc Moisans XO: a Little Taste of Luxury
Bold but elegant, the Armagnac Duc Moisans XO is certain to make an impression in any brandy collection. This wonderful Extra Old Armagnac has been matured for an average of 25 years in French oak, slowly developing concentrated aromas of chocolate and fruit liqueur complemented by a rich, sumptuous mouthfeel. At such an advanced age, this expression represents fantastic value for money and simply must be tasted to be believed.
Armagnac is a grape brandy produced in the Gascony region of south-west France, between the Adour and Garonne rivers in the foothills of the Pyrenees, as it has been since at least the 15th century. The terroir here is rugged and earthy, spread across rolling hills drenched in sunshine during the long summer - resulting in dark, rich and rustic eaux-de-vie with concentrated aromas.
Traditionally produced using wines made from Colombard, Baco Blanc, Folle Blanche and Ugni Blanc grapes, Armagnac is distilled in column stills rather than pot stills, and distilled only once. The resulting spirit is generally of a low ABV - as low as 52% - and is then aged in oak barrels before being bottled.
Presentation of the Bottle
The Duc Moisans Armagnac XO comes in an elegant carafe-shaped decanter reminiscent of a seashell. The gold lettering on the otherwise simple label perfectly matches the weighty stopper; there is no doubt that this both looks and feels like a luxury product, sure to make an excellent centerpiece for your drinks cabinet, dining table or minibar.
How to Enjoy Duc Moisans XO
We recommend trying this flavorful aged Armagnac after dinner, paired with rich chocolate desserts, black coffee or even a cigar. Pour into a tulip glass and let it rest for 30 seconds or so before taking a sip - this will allow the aromas to fully develop, giving the optimal drinking experience.
