Armagnac Clés des Ducs 1988
Description
Armagnac 1988 Clés des Ducs - A Lovely Vintage Armagnac from the Late 80s
Award-winning Armagnac house Clés des Ducs delights with this dignified vintage from 1988. Captured in time for over thirty years, it offers the inimitable experience of tasting the atmosphere and character of its specific year of distillation, such is the power of a vintage eau-de-vie.
Clés des Ducs is the trading house behind this brandy. Situated in the heart of the Gers region, it is driven by core principles of specificity and rigor. The house’s terroir extends over the areas of Panjas, Maupas and Estang, known for their tawny sands, and the grape variety used most prominently by them is the Ugni Blanc. Clés des Ducs is committed to upholding the region’s noble traditions of Armagnac production that dates back to the 15th century.
Armagnac 1988 Clés des Ducs, like every offering in Clés des Ducs’ proud catalogue, contains lightly wooded notes alongside a long, mellow effect on the palate. The richness of this vintage eau-de-vie lingers beautifully.
This vintage comes in a graceful Exception bottle, its rich amber color glistening with flecks of yellow and copper. With a tall, tapered body and sleek neck, the packaging is the perfect match for its vintage poise.
This particular eau-de-vie is just one in a series of Clés des Ducs’ award-winning vintage Armagnacs. The house won gold in 2016 for their 1998 vintage, as well as for a string of their Armagnac blends.
An excellent 80s throwback, this Armagnac fits the bill for nostalgia lovers.

Very good
This is a nice, smooth Armagnac. Not quite as much to our liking as the Montluc that we received some months ago but perfectly fine. A benefit of the subscription service is to receive items previously unknown to us. This was perfectly satisfactory and we were glad to get it.
