Armagnac 1310 25 Years
Description
Armagnac 1310 - 25 Years
This 1310 Armagnac 25 Year is made from the four major grape varieties of the appellation (ugni blanc, colombard, baco and folle blanche). It is born from a slightly acidic aromatic wine with a low alcoholic degree. This Armagnac has been aged in French oak barrels for between 25 and 30 years. This Bas-Armagnac has a beautiful intense amber color with light green reflections. Its very aromatic nose of sweet spices (pepper and clove), but also of vanilla and gingerbread, gives way in the mouth to very marked spicy and rancio (nut and butter) notes. It’s not to be missed.
Armagnac 1310 is an exciting new brand created by enthusiasts of Gascony's legendary brandy. Their ambitious mission is to select the finest eaux-de-vie produced in the Gascon tradition by skilled cellar masters who showcase the appellation's grape varieties with talent and boldness.
Armagnac 1310 pays tribute to Vital Dufour, an abbot from Eauze and a medical student at the University of Montpellier. In 1310, Dufour wrote about "the 40 virtues of Armagnac," a founding text preserved in the Vatican library in Rome, which dates the Gascon spirit as France's oldest brandy. Armagnac 1310 follows in the footsteps of this fabulous 700-year-old adventure.
Keen on embracing the prestige of Armagnac, Armagnac 1310 focuses on eaux-de-vie typical of the Bas-Armagnac terroir, a terroir composed of “sables-fauves” which produces eaux-de-vie that are aromatic, delicate, and immensely fruity.
