Eye: Crystal clear.

Nose: Powdery, with fragrances of dried thyme and lavender - a walk through a botanical garden in the south of France.

Palate: Expressive floral notes mingled with delicate lemon peel. Intense, sharp and pointed. The finish has a persistence that further enhances the citrus.

Description

This gift pack comprises a bottle of Bache Gabrielsen Aquavit and three 200ml bottles of Artonic mixers.

Make a Splash With Bache Gabrielsen Aquavit and Artonic

The cellarmaster at Bache Gabrielsen has used his years of expertise with Cognac to develop this aquavit to honor the Norwegian roots of the two men who set up the House of Bache Gabrielsen. Combining two spirits in one, Bache Gabrielsen Distillations Aquavit is a multifaceted expression intended to be perfect for mixing. The first spirit in the blend, rich in caraway and fennel, has been distilled in a traditional alembic still normally used for Cognac. The second spirit, with bright floral notes of angelica, has been distilled under vacuum. Perfectly mixing these qualities, the final result offers an intensely fresh experience with complexity and a great length on the palate. Soft and well- balanced, each ingredient is allowed to bring its own personality in this harmonious blend.

Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, a young lieutenant from Norway, moved to Charente in 1903 to join his friend Peter Rustad in the Cognac business. Two years later, they took over the house A. Edmond Dupuy and gave it a new name: Rustad & Bache Gabrielsen. Thomas fully settled in the region, marrying a local woman who also worked in the Cognac industry. Peter sadly passed away suddenly in 1916, after which Thomas took over the whole business, eventually passing it to his son Réné. Today, Bache Gabrielsen is run by fourth-generation company director Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen. While keeping an eye on tradition, as an economist, Hervé also knows the importance of staying relevant in an ever-changing world. Bache Gabrielsen spirits are currently distributed in the European Union, Japan, Taiwan, Russia and the USA, as well as Central and South America.

Presentation of the bottle

The ‘Distillations’ range by Bache Gabrielsen features modern, sturdy bottles with a clean Nordic design. This aquavit is presented with a natural wood stopper, a paper seal and a stylish label.

Serving Suggestions

Naturally, this bottle of Bache Gabrielsen Aquavit is sold with tonic for the perfect serve! Artonic is al all-French brand of tonics, certified organic and made with less sugar than other standard tonics. With their elegant, complex balance of botanicals and fruit, they are the perfect accompaniment to aquavit, creating interesting long drinks that are a fresh alternative to the classic G&T. Mix Bache Gabrielsen with tonic or soda in a tall glass, add plenty of ice and a twist of citrus peel. Simply perfect.

About Bache Gabrielsen Cognac

Bache-Gabrielsen is a medium-sized family Cognac house with an international history. The company was created in 1905, and so it celebrated its 100th anniversary in the last few years. With its clean design, Cognac Bache-Gabrielsen takes an important position in the Cognac market, exporting mainly to Scandinavian countries. Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, the fourth generation at the head of the company, is certainly aware that the Cognac industry is undergoing changes, with the international market being heavily developed and marketing strategies refined to cater for a younger, more fashionable consumer base. Given the size of the company compared to the major cognac houses, it is surprising to discover that this Norwegian cognac brand is the market leader in the sale of Cognac in Norway!
